The natural imperfection of timber elevated to permanence.
Original solid hardwood furniture conceived through the dual lens of Wabi-Sabi and Heirloom craft.
The union between the silence of Wabi-Sabi and the eternity of Heirloom.
Authorial solid timber works crafted so that every natural fissure, grain, and live-edge curve ages with grace across generations. In a hurried world built on disposal, we honor time, the scars of living matter, and nail-free precision joinery.

Honesty in craft: unhurried, without disguise.
Inside João Ishiguro's studio, woodworking is guided by silence and reverence for the nature of timber. In deep harmony with Wabi-Sabi, no living fissure is concealed with synthetic fillers, and no singular grain is obscured by industrial coatings.
An environmental engineer graduated in 2009 dedicated professionally to studio woodworking since 2018, João bridges ecological rigor with the patient mastery of hand tools, converting urban fallen trees and noble hardwoods into heirlooms that endure for generations.
“A máquina rápida corta a madeira. Mas é a plaina manual e o formão que conversam com ela e descobrem até onde a fibra permite ir.”
